Bayou Obsession Charters

Bayou Obsession Charters is an inshore and nearshore fishing operation based out of Lafitte, Louisiana, run by Captain Matt Mattice. The charter focuses on year-round fishing in the protected waters and surrounding marsh systems of southeast Louisiana, an area known for its consistency regardless of wind direction or seasonal shifts.

Trips typically depart at first light, allowing Captain Matt to take advantage of optimal tidal movement and quiet conditions before boat traffic increases. Captain Matt operates a 24-foot Blazer Bay, originally built in 2017 and powered by a 300-horsepower Yamaha outboard, providing a stable and capable platform for up to four anglers. Trips are conducted using light tackle, with anglers targeting species such as redfish, speckled trout, sheepshead, black drum, flounder, and other common Gulf Coast inshore fish depending on the season and conditions. Both live bait and artificial lures are used, with live bait typically available in onboard livewells when conditions permit. All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are provided, allowing guests to focus entirely on fishing rather than logistics.
